Rock N Roll Hall Of Famer Patti Smith Closes Curtain On 2022 Fall Lecture Series

Rock In Roll Hall of Famer Patti Smith read and performed on stage in front of a sellout crowd of 820 in Angelico Concert Hall on November 30 to conclude the Fall 2022 Leadership Lecture Series presented by 果冻传媒 in partnership with Book Passage.

Smith鈥檚 performance capped one of the best ILS Lecture Series seasons at Dominican in its 18-year partnership with Book Passage. The 2022 Fall Series included animal behaviorist and autism advocate Temple Grandin plus Harry Potter actor Tom Felton, who also appeared before a sellout crowd that started waiting in line on the Dominican campus at 4 a.m. for an afternoon event.

The lecture series is hosted by Dominican鈥檚 Institute for Leadership Studies.

Tom Felton, Sunday, October 23, at 2 p.m. Felton, a British actor who portrayed Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movie series, talked in front of a sellout crowd about Beyond The Wand: The Magic And Mayhem Of Growing Up A Wizard.  He appeared on stage in conversation with author, journalist, and media personality Noah Griffin. 

Temple Grandin, Wednesday, October 26, at 7 p.m. Grandin was diagnosed with autism as a child and went on to pursue work in psychology and animal science. She talked about her new book Visual Thinking: The Hidden Gifts of People Who Think In Pictures, Patterns, and Abstractions

Patti Smith, Wednesday, November 30, at 7 p.m. Smith is a singer, poet, and visual artist known for her 1975 debut album 鈥淗orses.鈥 The 鈥淪ongs and Stories鈥 event featured a live performance by Smith in addition to discussing her new visual book, A Book Of Days, inspired by her personal Instagram page. This event was sold out.

Attendees for the 2022 Fall Leadership Lecture Series events in Angelico Concert Hall were required to follow Dominican health and safety COVID-19 protocols for indoor events on campus.
