Day of Giving Campaign Raises More than Half a Million Dollars
Records were broken during ý’s “All In For Dominican” fundraising campaign, which raised more than $570,000 to support student scholarships and programming. This is an all-time high for the annual day of giving event, now in its eighth year.
All In For Dominican also featured the largest matching challenge in the event’s history, tripling the impact of all donations. Once the original $189,000 goal was met, a $378,000 match from an anonymous donor was unlocked.
“Everyone who made a donation has played a part in transforming our students’ lives,” says Jessica Jordan, Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Engagement.
“With the 2:1 match, each donation went three times further in supporting our diverse, ambitious, and talented students. This generosity will make a tremendous difference in these challenging times while supporting Dominican’s legacy of inclusion and empowerment.”
Since its inception in 2017, All In for Dominican has inspired more than 4,000 donors. This year, about 40% of donors were alumni, 23% were faculty and staff, 23% were trustees, community members and other friends of the university, 11% were parents, and 5% were students.
In addition to being a successful fundraiser, All In For Dominican is also a public sign of the Dominican community’s commitment to its students. Most of the funds raised during the March 19 event will support student scholarships.
With about one-quarter of all undergraduates being first-generation college students and about one-third coming from low-income backgrounds, fundraising is a critical component of student support. More than 95% of students receive financial assistance from the university.
“Our students are the future—educators, healthcare heroes, and innovative entrepreneurs ready to craft a more equitable world,” Jordan says. “During events such as these, gifts are more than a donation – they are a sign of hope and opportunity for our students. Our donors are making education accessible to all.”
The $189,000 goal was both ambitious and symbolic, honoring the founding year of Dominican.
“The goal wasn't just a number,” says Jordan. “It was a symbol of our shared legacy, as well as a reflection of our commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders.”
And, .
“Due to popular demand and the unstoppable spirit of our community, we're keeping the giving page open for a few more days,” says Jordan. “If you haven't had the chance to join this amazing wave of support, there's still time to make your mark.”
